The Cow Video

My art history class is too long. Now, I love art history - don't get me wrong.  But when it goes for 2 hours, and I'm one of 250 people crammed together in a dark room, I tend to zone out about halfway through. Most of the time I switch back and forth between taking notes and watching crap on youtube.

Yesterday went exactly like that...except this time, I found myself in the deepest and weirdest corners of youtube. You know. You've all been there. You're watching a funny and innocent cat video and before you know it you see something that cannot ever be unseen.

Sort of like the cow video.

Yeah. YEAH.

After emerging from the depths of youtube, I began taking notes again hoping they would help me forget what I had seen. But it had already seared itself into my subconscious, because every slide the teacher showed reminded me of it.

I couldn't stop thinking about the cow video. It was going through my mind. How did he create that? Is that what Hell is? What do I do now? The part where they turned into spider-cows...OH. WHY DID THEY ALL TURN INTO SPIDERS.

I may or may not have watched it a few more times.  I also made the mistake (or was it a fantastic choice?) to watch that guy's other videos. The sheep one...

Coincidentally, I somehow stumbled upon this video last week! Oh yes, I remember now. My daughter had learned about cows in preschool and decided she wanted to watch a video of cows, and somehow, this is what Google came up with.

So. Bizarre.

I may never be the same. Something about that video both inspires me and makes me question my life choices. My mind is now blown.

the video almost made me cry, but not in a good way or a bad way or in an any way. in a "what are these on my face and who am i and what if there are spider cows in my bed tonight" way.

I'm not sure why I thought watching this just before I went to sleep was a good idea. All I know is that I'm likely to have nightmares now.

I wish there was an appropriate emoticon to express the brain damage I just sustained watching that..

*spider cow. spider cow. does whatever a spider cow does*

I'm pretty sure now I know what it's like to take drugs. I kind of liked the cowrantulas, though.

Those cows scare me so badly, they just kept morphing into different things and I just wanted to run away and never look back but I couldn't. I was glued to the screen.

Apparently there is now a 10 hour version as well. Just in case you needed something to be constantly in the background.

I couldn't finish the video. it got too weird. But thanks for illustrating my exact reaction to that weird monstrosity of a spidercow. :)

Our teacher decided to show us this video in our Introductory Physics class yesterday...... which is conveniently located in the dark, in the basement, where there was nobody to hear our horrified screams.

Oh yeah, did I mention this was an all girls' school?? Let me repeat: SCREAMS.

That video was brilliant... I'm going to now watch the others on his youtube channel. They are hilarious.

Hmmm, and I wander why people always assume I'm high when they meet me.

This is in my top 10 favorite blog posts and about twice a year, someone brings up the deep, dark recesses of YouTube and I direct them directly to this blog post/Cows & Cows & Cows. It gets better every single time.
